A New Studio Location for TOtGU!
As of Episode 16 Too Old to Grow Up realized we outgrew the current situation for our recording. In the beginning we were simply just a small mixer and two microphones hooked up to my computer with an audio cable, we've grown bigtime since then.
When Ken arrived to record episode 16 we realized there was just too much equipment to haul back and forth, and trying to hook everything up and troubleshoot was taking too much time. We now have the full gamut of equipment, a nice big mixer, four mics, wireless mics, headsets, USB connectors, audio programs and more.
So we've moved to Kens house where I simply bring my mic stand and my laptop (for notes etc) and he hands me a mic and we're off and recording. Our Dreamcast look back was the first episode recorded at his house and its what I feel is one of our best, maybe its a nice tip of things to come.
Thanks for listening!

Too Boldly Watch What Everyone's Already Seen!
So last week I came up with this crazy idea that I was going to watch the Star Trek movies. This came about as I was browsing the movie channels for movies to recored and came across Star Treck Insurection. Now of course I can't just hop in the middle of something (or in this case the end) so I decided to get the other nine movies. Again I could just have borrowed these movies from Logan but buying them was much more inviting for me! So off to Amazon.com I went and found them at a rather great price for ten movies, heck Logan told me he paid $15 - $20 a piece when they were first released!
So here I am with ten movies on my desk to watch, all two disk special editions and its very daunting to me, especially since I didnt like Star Treck: The Motion Picture the first time around. Yet it doesn't stop there becuase this time I'm going to watch the first episode of Star Trek before anything else ala Xbox Live Marketplace!
I guess I'm a little bit more interested this time around what with the new movie coming out next year and all, here's hoping!
Beam me up Scotty!

Some things don't work as planned
Well we got the new mixer last week and had every intention of using it to great lengths on Sunday to record episode 11, alas we were foiled by static feedback that we couldn't eliminate. Since we don't get much time to get together before the shows are recorded and Logan has half the equipment and I have the other half we didn't get to do much testing until it was time to record, but we'll work out the kinks and hopefully be up and running with the new equipment soon.
In any case we saw Indy 4 on Sunday and thought it rocked, Carl (lracjones) joins us to discuss not only Indy 4 but the first three movies as well. Its a cool discussion that may fill you in a some things you didn't know plus our thoughts on the original trilogy and how why we hope it doesn't continue a certain way.
So we've been to the movies twice this year so far (yeah it takes alot to get us to the theater) after Iron Man and Indy 4 its Incredible Hulk up next for us, but not before our road trip to Wizard World Philly this weekend.
Speaking of Wizard World and recording equipment we may have to record the show literally on the road next week, should be fun, stick around and find out.
If your not already subscribed head to http://totgu.libsyn.com/ and get with the program!
And as always thanks for listening!
